Then there came a time where you could take a picture or make a video and you weren’t able to review or see it because it took time to develop and you had to wait. But now, in this age, we don’t have to wait that long. New technology has gotten so advanced it makes living easier and communicating so much simpler.
You can be sitting on one side of the world and you can easily see a video of someone doing something funny from the other side. Social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have made it easier to be engaged in what others are up to. Not only can you get in touch with your family, who is far from you, but also get in touch with celebrities and people of knowledge.
Instagram, being one of the most famous social media sites is a hub for social contact and its features offer you the chance to become a part of their lives and events. Features like “liking” someone’s post, or commenting on their photo or video and expressing your opinion. Another feature that was very famous and well loved was the RepostWhiz App which allowed you to repost someone else’s video easily and without any harm. With this being said there has been a problem going on surrounding this feature.
So, have you been wondering what happened to RepostWhiz? Why isn’t it working? Well, to put it simply Instagram had to go private rather than stay public due to the fact that they needed their users to be registered to the app. Why, you ask? RepostWhiz App was the first app that Instagram introduced for its users so that they could repost videos to their followers or to someone particular. Instagram noticed that you, the user were having difficulties posting each other’s videos and wanted to make it easier for you to repost a video you liked. This became so popular that it became the fastest growing and the best Instagram repost app. Now the following paragraph or title will be explaining to you I detail what actually happened and why it is important for you to know and understand.
What Happened to the RepostWhiz App?
So, let’s try and explain what happened. Basically, Instagram was a public website. This means that it had a public API that could be accessible to anyone, anywhere as long as they had an internet connection. Through this process, everyone could have access to this app and thus there was no privacy and no security for the app itself and you, the user. Through the RepostWhiz App, you would like, follow and repost videos and pictures easily. This all changed on 1st June 2016 because Instagram decided that it will change its API from the public to private, which meant that now you, the user, would have to register online to gain access to the Instagram App itself. This is definition meant that you would need to register and the app needed to get your information, verify it a then give you access to their account.
Now, recently, if you are a user, you would have noticed that you can’t get access to this app no matter how hard you try. If you are an Apple user then this has caused a lot of problems for you due to the fact that Apple has temporarily disabled RepostWhiz App and the reason is not known. According to the founder Garry Garris, this is one of the reasons that access to this app has been disabled and he thinks that although, given the popularity of the RepostWhiz App, the application has been denied access altogether to all phones and its users. This simply means that if Apple doesn’t give its users access to this feature again then this feature will need to be disabled or canceled.
Now, if you are an Android user, you will be able to download it from the play store, get it installed, but that’s it. You will not be able to actually use it on your phone even though its an Android and not an Apple phone. This could lead to your phone getting hanged, or stalling any other updates.
What Can You Do Instead?
So, now that we have established that you have no access to this feature and the RepostWhiz App is not available in any way what you can do is go to the Instagram iOS and then when you get there you can use any other feature that they offer you in replacement to the one that you couldn’t have. These other options will offer you, though not the same options, but will offer you better packages and opportunities. If not that, then you can also go to the main reposting apps page.
Repost for Instagram & Repostly
You can use other apps such as Repost for Instagram that will help you do the same thing that you wanted to get done from the RepostWhiz App, but this will work on your Android and Apple. You can also use an app called Repostly which does the same thing. These two have a quick response time and allow you to give credit to the online post you are reposting from. All you need to do is the following
- Open the app
- Log in to it using your logging account and password.
- Then search the post you want to repost from.
- Copy the URL from the post click the three dots.
- Viola! You have reposted someone content and mentioned them so as to avoid any future miscommunication.

Now, fair warning. This method is not an ethical way to use Instagram and this is usually used by people who like to steal someone else’s work and not give them credit for it. This is wrong and though we here don’t support it, to each there own.
Now this one requires a little work and time. You will need to do the following:
- Open the Instagram post you need to repost.
- Screenshot the image or post according to your liking
- Then once that is done you will need to save it to your camera roll.
- Once you have done that go to your gallery.
- Add pic the saved post, crop the time and battery life from the picture that you screenshotted so as to hide the unethical thing that you did.
- Then either post it on Instagram and then edit it using Instagram’s editing tools or edit it before and then post it on Instagram.
