With Whisper, you need to create an account. Be it for posting or following other whispers. In order to create your own account then, you will need to tap an icon that depicts a person at the lower right side of your mobile’s screen. From here, you will select Settings icon located at the upper right corner of your mobile’s screen. Once you open it, you will be required to mention your pseudonym. Make sure whatever you choose as your pen name, it does not reveal your identity to people who know you. After all, some of us are really good at taking a wild guess; one that is accurate too. Make sure the username that you choose is not similar to any other username that you have used for other social media applications. This again, will reveal who you are in seconds!
With Whisper application, you can now chat without Whisper users anonymously. In the settings however, you can set whether you can to avail this or not. For example, you recently posted a heart-felt Whisper about your body image. It includes you being fat shamed at your work today and how upset that made you feel. It can also include your current weight and any other sensitive information. When someone else reads this whisper by you, they might wish to share or talk about a similar experience. How to share secrets on Whisper Application!
When you have made an account with Whisper, you might find it difficult in first try to post your own Whispers. From your home screen, all you need to do is select a purple plus icon on the top right corner. Once you click it, a new window will open. In this window, all you have to do is begin typing your whisper. Proof read everything before you move on to the next level. Once you have made sue that your Whisper is completely anonymous, click on the “Next” purple button on the top right corner. In the next window, you will simply choose a picture for your whisper. While you can leave it blank, the picture background creates an aesthetic for the viewers. All you need to do is swipe right or left to choose the right picture. You also have the option of downloading this picture from your gallery. If advisable to use a picture that is relevant to your whisper. Once you have selected the accurate and most suitable picture, all you need to do is click on the purple “Post” button on the top right corner. Your Whisper will then be shared by everyone using Whisper application.
With Whisper application, other users can like your posts, comment on them, reply to it with a whisper of their own thoughts, send a private word or share it around. Whispers by everyone are categorized. At the top of your screen you will view the most recent whispers shared, the most popular ones and the ones near you if of course, you turned on your location. You can view who liked your whispers, who commented on them and when you tap on the username, you can view any whispers by them.
Unless you have shared your personal details with someone, Whisper application is absolutely confidential. Do not worry, no one will have any idea about who you are, where you are from, where do you study, and so on. You have a place where you can vent your deepest thoughts, opinions, secrets, observations and so on! Just make sure that when you type a whisper, when you choose a picture and when you reply to a comment, you do not reveal anything that can easily link people to you.
